Jot Jot Jot

I am a commulearner. If there isn't such a word, then I use it for me and define it as a: a learner who learns during her/his commuting time.
I might write about this someday later, commulearner, I encourage you to do that, it is very effective. Especially in a high traffic cities.

So during my commuting of averagely 1.5 hours, I mostly listens to great teachers in personal development such as Jim Rohn, Zig Ziglar, and John Maxwell, they are among the greatest influencer of my life. I believe I am very blessed to be born in the era where I can just listen to the teachings of great people via youtube.

Today I would like to share about one of Maxwell's teaching. About the laws of growth. He said (which he also learned from another teacher) growth is not intentional. If you wanna grow, you have to plan it. You cannot just sit and say: when I am 60 I will be growing a lot then when I am 30. Well, haven't you met a 60 years old person whose life is in a poor condition because of his bad personality and bad lifestyle and bad choices? and vice versa, Zig Ziglar at his 30s already makes million dollars.

How could it be?

The law of Intentionality! How do you do that? Ask God, what is your talent. Everyone is born with talent, some has a lot, some has a few, it does not really matter, what matter is : do you use it and seize it to its best potential?

Next?

Now that you know your talent, plan what do you want to use it for, and how will you develop that talent or skill?

Maxwell said the key is this: (concentrate, read through, this is very important)

Plan, practice, evaluate: on daily basis. And at the end of the week, spend an hour to write about your evaluation on what you have done during the week, evaluate your progress against your goal on the improvement of the specific skill.

For example: John wanted to grow in communication, so everyday he spend 1 hour to watch great communicators, and learn and observe why do they failed or succeed in engagement. Within certain periods, he became a master in understanding audience engagement.

This sharing by John really inspired me. Because I have a dream, and I have plan, and I believe in my dreams. I pray that I can use my talents to their best and give others the benefit.

what about you, what is your plan for growth in your life? If you don't have one yet, it is not too late.

Go make one! :)

XOXO,
The Commulearner

Why so angry?

Do you sometimes ponder, how this world is full of anger - angry people?
The presidents of the world, the terror maker, the traffic with a loud noise, the war happening between countries.

Why are we so angry? Are we forgetting that this world is temporary, all of it. Why do we act and spend our lives as if it is going to last forever.

Don't be angry, this temporary lives is sometimes not fair. Look at the lost and suffering with a bit of humor, if we cannot fix it, look at it from the good or funny side - don't be as angry as hell. Let it go, even if you do not lost or suffer from it, it will not last anyway. It will now or later disappear.

Be full of mercy, and drop a cold dew in this hot world. It is contagious.

Spread mercy, kindness, joy, love.

May peace rule your heart,

Ripe!

At first I planned to titled this post "Mature".
I feel like that is the part of my life that God wants to deal with, so that I can serve others better.

That is a profound quote for me, person who loves happiness that comes from instant pleasure.
What motivates me to have discipline to resist the immature behaviour and thought is that I have come to realize that immaturity has robbed me from many joy, love, happiness, opportunity to advance, that others and I may have experienced.

It is a total disturbance. And worst, it won't happen by nature. We have to work for it. We have to be willing to resist the Devil, and carry on... pressing on to be a selfless human.

To be mature is to realize that the life we are given, is not merely for us, but for us to help others, to serve others, to serve God.

With maturity, we get to see the world in different view, in God's view, in other human's view, and we got to understand... that life is about God, life is about others, and we are just as special as others, not more, but "as special as".

GOD IS gooooddd all the time!

This past 2 months, God has been showing His constants protection toward our marriage, and His guidance in our everyday life and decisions.

It is so much different, when God is around... we are kinder to each other, we become a better team, we faithfully have our 'saat teduh', we think positive about each other. It is only by the grace of God.

Thank you Jesus.

Guys, try it in you relationship. With anyone. Try it. Involved God, let Him work in you.

Hello!

Today I learned that I could do the magic of just do it! and go get up!
Beat the procrastination by rushing ahead toward what it is that you are delaying.

This new mantra excites me! I'm getting better in doing it. Thank God.

Today I am reminded to be humble, to stop over thinking (no ... the whole world does not circle arounds me), and to 'commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him also and He will do it.
The last reminder hits me the most. It reminded me to include God in every little step and decision I make, do my best and trust Him on the result. He will do... according to his way, which you have committed to.

Today I went home tired, just like the other days. But today, I am better than yesterday. Today I know better. And as Maya Angelou said, when you know better... you do better.

love you blogiest!

Beni

18 Jun 19

Today is a good day.

I started it good, praying with Abang, going to church together. We are reminded to work our way out to become a better servant in the level where we are right now, to chase the excellent at our current spiritual level. May God bless us in doing so :)

I call a day as a good one, if I spent it by doing as much as meaningful and fulfilled life as possible.. having moment with God, cleaning up our small house, doing those household chores (laundry, washing dishes, cleaning, eating our own cooking, groceries, home-made-juice), writing, reading, working office task, doing sports.

It made my day. To be able to achieve.

This morning, on our way to the church, I listen to a youtube video by Mel Robbins. She talked about procrastination, and how to fight it. The cure to it is: just do it. Just do whatever you need to do, the moment it pops up in your mind. Because if you wait for 5 secs, your mind - which is working to protect you from harm and fear - will persuade you not to do the thing you need to do.

Yes it is hard. Yes it is painful. But it is needed to move up, to achieve, to improve. So just get up and get goin. It is the oldies but goodies term -- we know it, but do we apply it?

Have fun in applying, see you in another 5 years. With a different level of success!

God bless you and your plans. Include Him, at all time, at all stage. Depend on Him. You'll do fine!

Your fella,
Benio

Life!

its been a while ... years.. since last time I write.
So many things to talk about.
So many idea on what to write about, what would interest you -- my dear reader.

I have decided that this blog will be about coffee, life experiences - the ups and downs, travel, family, encouragement on career and life, God.

Not sure how will this blog journey be, one thing for sure, I like to write, and I dream to be a good writer, I aspire to be a writer -- helping readers through my experiences, doing it with style and class, writing in a top of a mountain, in a very good place, peaceful surroundings, good coffee, good music, family (non disturbing family.. hahaha.. peace in writing).

See you when I see you.

Best,
Beni - O
